About A1 Agent Locksmith. We are a family owned and operated, full service mobile, Locksmith company, who was born and raised in Bradenton, Florida. We are a second generation Locksmith with many years (almost a lifetime), of experience. One thing about us is that we never beat around the bush or mislead you in any way, when it comes to pricing. So many companies out there try very hard to avoid talking prices over the phone. This is because they Will over charge you. We are up front and believe in Flat Rate Pricing. That is defined as all prices quoted to you include Labor. Several companies today, will charge you for a product or service, then quote you another price for the product or service you received. However, what so many fail to mention is their business has an hourly rate. For example, if your pricing quotes for 2 locks to be re-keyed and a lock to be replaced, many will quote you the price for each individual re-key prices, plus however much for the lock. So let's say it is $16 per lock to be re-keyed, plus $69 for the new replacement lock, your probably under the impression your total will equal $101. Where they catch you is, if the job takes 30-45 minutes to re-key and install the locks, then guess what? You will be paying whatever the cost of 30-45 minutes worth of labor on top of the total. Not here at A1 Agent Locksmith. Learn more about A1 Agent Locksmith and our fees. All of our prices include labor. What you are quoted is what you will ALWAYS pay. That is also why our prices may seem to be more on the higher end of prices in Bradenton. The only time there will ever be an exception that we would charge you an hourly rate, is when a repair is requested and that repair takes up a substantial amount of time.

Here at A1 Agent Locksmith, we believe Quality far out weighs Quantity. We also believe in Function over Form. We always provide or sell the best products available to Locksmiths. Never will you find after we leave, the same locks that we installed into your home, at Home Depot or Lowe's. That is because when we arrive at or your or job site, our trucks are fully equipped with everything needed to give our customers premier service. Our technicians are not going to tell you that they need to go back to the office because they left something or even saying "I don't have any left on my truck." Be rest assured that whenever you hear a Locksmith say that, watch out! That will usually mean going to the "office" is really going to Home Depot to pick up the item. Then adding insult to injury, the technician will charge you double what they paid for the item. Basically, you are paying for the consequence of an unstocked work truck because of the unqualified locksmith that you hired without doing research. This is also another reason our prices are what they are. We always stand behind our products and services!

About A1 Agent Locksmith

You must ask yourself, how can anyone stay in business and continue to do business like that very long? Especially when they're continually being called back to repair an inferior product? The answer is not very long at all. Not to mention, several of those unqualified locksmith's that sell "bargain locks" will never return to stand behind their products. Once they have the money in their hands, then they are gone. We here at A1 Agent Locksmith, will always give the customer several options to choose from. One thing to know about A1 Agent Locksmith, is that we want our customers to trust us. That is why we do not lie to our customers, cheat the customers or steal your money. Our business will always have what it takes to meet your needs, from Grade 3 Residential to Grage 1 Commercial as well as High Security. We will never pressure you into buying anything you do not need or anything that is too expensive for your budget. We do however, carry an extensive line of products as well as having an adverse inventory. On another note, the unqualified locksmiths will only carry whatever the local Home Depot sells. You will find that the products we sell are not available to the general public. This is because all of our products come straight from the distributes only, which also makes our prices competitive to the big box store prices. This is going to give you a peace of mind knowing our products go over and beyond the retail chain stores. So whenever you are out price shopping, remember, that you get what you pay for and the cheapest isn't always the best.

We sell peace of mind to protect and secure you. This is not just a catchy phrase, but a way of life that we believe in. Because our job isn't complete until you feel safe. Also being a Native of Bradenton, Florida, there are many other facts we would like you to know more about A1 Agent Locksmith. We are not just any Locksmith. Instead, we are your Locksmith. Call Center Scams

Call Center Scams

Call center scams are becoming more popular these days. We try to inform everyone to watch out for these call center scams who charge you hidden fees.

By
Call Center Scams Bradenton, FL

(Bradenton, FL) - Over the last several years, there has been an enormous influx of call center scams popping up all over our nation. They have several people who are employed that are not locksmiths nor are qualified in the profession. Running a call center is a very easy process.

First you would call a phone number that you would think is local, but unfortunately its not. That phone is forwarded to another state. The individual will explain their issues that they're having and the employee will try to contact someone who is located in their city until they can find someone to assist them. The employee will then quote you a ridiculously low amount for the issues you have explained so that they can secure your locksmith job. But what you wont know is that you will be waiting anywhere from 30-60 minutes until someone finally shows up, examines the situation and then explains to you that there are issues with your locks so he will have to drill them. By this time, your patience is gone and frustration is setting in so you agree on what the "locksmith" has advised you what the best option is going to be. So your locks are drilled because they have every intention to do so from the very beginning and they then install the cheapest quality locks possible purchased from your local hardware store. The high quality lock that you thought was being installed was roughly about $20 at Home Depot, but managed to turn around and charge you anywhere from $75-$125 per lock. By the time they are finally finished, they hand you the total bill which has included a service call, labor for drilling your locks, plus the locks he replaced. So what should have a simple lockout costing you about $69, ends up being your worst nightmare with a charge of $300-$500. Television News programs such as 60 minutes and Bay News 9, have aired programs of fraudulent call centers stings to make the public aware of these scams that are going on in your local city.

If you are ever needing a locksmith, please be sure to check if they are a qualified locksmith with an actual business. Don't be afraid to ask for further information. You need to know their business name, the name of the person who will be coming to assist you, the vehicle they are driving, the total quote amount with no hidden fees, etc. Don't be afraid to ask questions to see if they are doing call center scams.

Now, if you have a car lockout, they will try to quote you a cheap price lie $30. Once they have opened your vehicle, they then will try to charge you $130. When you try to argue why the amount is so high, they will respond by saying, your quoted amount was $30 and the service call was $100. The way the call center scams work is that you are given an amount over the phone but then charged, service calls, labor, driving expenses, etc. So you must always remember that no matter what service you are in need of, if it sounds too good to be true, then it usually is. Call center scams make everything sound great. Don't be fooled by those call center scams. Instead, ask a lot of questions to see if they can respond normally. Then you will know if it is a call center scams or not.

What so many people fail to realize is that locksmith companies have expenses just like every other business. Sometimes customers will say to me "Why is the amount so high for only 2 minutes of work?". The answer is simple. There is a daytime rate of $69 which is remarkably low for the work we do. The amount is calculated by the distance traveled to you and from the job, gas as well as time spent driving. Not to mention that any real Locksmith Company has insurance bonding and licensing, which all costs money. It's funny how when your driving and you see bumper stickers all over work vehicles that say they are a licensed contractor. Well it is the same when you are hiring a Locksmith. Our business costs are the same as any other company you would hire. We have to provide professional technicians to assist you in with your issues, advertising our business as well maintaining a professional business with expenses. What if someone works on your vehicle or enters your home and they are not insured? They could break something or get injured on the job. Then what would you do? If that company could not afford insurance than do you really think they are going to pay for damages? No, they will tell you to claim it on your car insurance, homeowners insurance or even worse, they could personally sue you.

One of the top reasons that transportation costs are so high, is because when someone calls several locksmiths at one time trying to see who is the fastest to respond, each Locksmith you have called has to drive to get to you. So basically each company is sending an employee unaware of any other company driving to the same call at the same time. To the company who gets there first is ok. But for every other person who arrived after them, they have now wasted their time, gas, etc in trying to assist you. Even worse, when other companies finally show up, the customer is either gone or our competitor is currently working on the job. Meanwhile, the customer has no concern or compassion to call back the other companies after someone has arrived. It is the same concept as if someone were to steal from Walmart, it drives the prices up for everyone else. People fail to realize or care that when a business sends an employee and the customer is gone, the business loses money. Going to what is called a "Ghost Call", will end up raising prices for all other potential customers due to one persons actions. We as Locksmith companies just ask for you to be considerate whenever you have called multiple companies to assist you. Return the call to stop them from time that could've been helping someone else. It is appreciated more than you would think. What if this happened to you?

So again when you are searching for a locksmith, you need to know their business name, the name of the person who will be coming to assist you, the vehicle they are driving, the total quote amount with no hidden fees, to ensure you get a qualified Locksmith to assist you properly. And you should always remember, the lowest quote is not always going to be your best option and be considerate of your Locksmith. Also, ask if their company has an "On Time" guarantee for lockouts? We at A1 Agent pride ourselves for being prompt. We are also the only Locksmith in Bradenton who offers an on time guarantee. Nevertheless, we have expenses just like every other business and these expenses must be considered when providing a service to you. Usually the lower priced Locksmith companies are not bonded, licensed or insured because that is the only way to keep their costs cheap. If you are willing to gamble on having an uninsured Locksmith come to your house or vehicle, you are assuming all responsibility for that person. If someone enters your home and they are not insured, they could break something or get injured on the job. Then what would you do? If that company could not afford insurance than do you really think they are going to pay for damages? Of course not. But if you did a little extra research when finding a Locksmith, it will actually save you money in the end.

Be sure to go to our News Section and watch our videos regarding Locksmith Scams, Call Centers, etc. Locksmith scams are not always about scamming money from you. If a Locksmith claims to be in business for 15 years and shows up using a bump key to unlock your house, be afraid, Be VERY afraid. Any true Locksmith will never use a bump key to open your door and those who use them are usually not Locksmiths at all. See my article about Bump Keys and how fraudulent Locksmiths use them.

Ultimately, ask yourself this the next time you find yourself locked out and calling around locksmith companies, what time is it now, is it a holiday and how far aware are you? You should try to remember when a locksmith gets a call after midnight, you are then paying for that person to get out of bed, get dressed and drive to your location. That person must also wake up by 8am to start the next day of work which can certainly take a tole on someone who hasn't had a lot of sleep. Nevertheless, you should think about how much would your employer have to pay for you to wake up in the middle of the night to work for about an hour? Most people would not even answer the phone or would charge you a lot of money to help you, unlike me. I run the late night calls because I care about people in general and that is how my father ran his Locksmith company. When I was a child, he used to say that lockouts are like 911 emergency calls for us. We would run as fast as possible because we would ask ourselves how would we feel if we were to be locked out. And as a locksmith, we provide emergency services to you no matter what the situation is. But all too often, these Call Center scams have affected our trade. Please make sure you gather all your information or you will be scammed next.

Security Expert Puts Technology to Work Bradenton, FL

I had the pleasure to meet with a gentleman regarding the issues of security. He is one of our professionally trained locksmith. His name was Thomas Williams who resided in the town of Chicago, IL on Sept 2nd. His schooling consisted of graduating grade school as well as completing college courses. In his personal life, he was happily committed to his best friend, Trisha along with having a few children, Samuel and Brittany. He was very pleased to discuss his employment with Chicago Security Solutions. He has been employed for over 20 years as the Lead Security Officer in the state operations and purchases department. We talked about how he is an expert with financial banking safety. In his words, I also serve within the Chicago state accreditation commission board intended for all weapons as well as home security systems along with locksmith professional people. I have gone through a bigger part of my life within the security profession where I performed alongside my family, especially my father by the time I turned fourteen years old. Chicago Security can be described as a thriving but accredited corporation. Our company supplies camera repair along with maintenance of video surveillance systems as well as provides dedicated controlling over the systems. In addition to monitoring systems, we can also provide home security sensors and flame detectors for complete reassurance in your place of business or your personal residence. You will find that there is always a demand for security. Not only in Chicago, but also to protect and serve as security officers. While working as a trained locksmith, I have helped save many lives and residential homes from being targeted.

The fact is, We happen to be operated and managed by the Chicago Operations Of Security which in the early 1900's, was founded by one of our four fathers. Throughout the normal business day, you will discover numerous regulation complications that has to with fire. Law enforcement demands that you must get an operational license for the job you are doing. There are also quite a few places that expect for you to record the burglary system information which might seem to be a difficult task to do but in the long run it will ensure the company as well as the purchaser, that the job was done correctly. I can still remember when our business's name started out as Illinois alarm company. It was then that Taylor, my dad, trained me how to learn the skills of a professional locksmith. In the beginning I was not very interested in learning his trade so thats when going to school become the next alternative for me. I soon graduated and was working for various companies. Thats Chicago Security Solutions purchased the company and hired me as their newest employee. I decided to go with that company above my other employers seeing as it was very well established. And even though the times were rough, they always knew how to interact with employees with great compassion. It was an extreme pleasure to work there. Being a trained locksmith was the best job I could have ever wanted. I have learned so many things being a trained locksmith.

Dont Get Scammed

How you can be scammed by your locksmith

We want to inform you on how you dont get scammed. Many locksmith try to charge you a fortune. Dont get scammed by an unprofessional locksmith company.

By
Dont Get Scammed

This video is to inform you that there are numerous scams in the locksmith industry today. Whether you are locked out of your place of business, your residence, or even locked out of your car, you need to be on alert whenever you call a locksmith. There are several signs to look for when trying to choose a locksmith. We are here to help you avoid being in a bad situation. Dont get scammed by unprofessional locksmith companies. If you are unsure of the company you hired, ask around. Dont get scammed before knowing all your information about the company.

In every profession large or small, you may find that there are individuals who try to find ways to bend the rules or scam the system. Whether someone is trying to get more discounts than what they should be receiving or a business trying to raise the prices to scam you out of money. Either way, a scam is a scam!

In the Locksmith profession, there are several scams that businesses try to wrap you up in. The standard procedure for hiring a Locksmith is actually simpler than you think. You find a locksmith and contact them. You then explain the technician your current situation and why you are needing assistance from them. Then they will base a charge depending upon the amount of work that is needed for your request. However, the scam with this type of situation is that you may be told one amount over the phone but that amount might not include a service call or other fees.

Withholding information is the largest scam in the Locksmith business. A standard Locksmith usually has a service or call charge and then the charge of the work that was done. There are also Call Centers that are not local that give you quotes over the phone that may be incorrect. For example, you try to call a Locksmith company. The person informs you that a technician will be contacted and sent to your location. They will price you a standard quote for having the technician come out to you. Once the technician arrives, the technician will then give you a different amount for the charge and then blame it on the person who you were talking to. Either way, the Locksmith company is scamming you for more money. Dont get scammed by fake locksmith companies.

Dont Get Scammed

The second largest scam in the Locksmith business is that the technician will try and attempt to unlock your residential door lock. After a short while, he may tell you that you need brand new locks or that your locks are broken and he needs to replace them, which may not be true. This is scamming you into forcing you to buy new parts, which will then cost you more money in the long run. You might even have a job as simple as rekeying a lock which does not cost as much. But before the job is done, he might inform you that the lock is broken and now you must pay for a new one.

These are a few examples on how you can protect yourself from being a scammed victim:

Step 1: Do a little research regarding the company. Read reviews online and look over their website to verify that they are a real company.
Step 2: Ask for an estimate over the phone. If they quote you a price but say fees are subject to change, then that's a scam. Hang up.
Step 3: Ask what vehicle the Locksmith will be driving. If an unmarked vehicle pulls up and the technician looks suspicious, then end it right there.
Step 4: Before he even starts the job, verify the amount you were quoted before he touches anything.
Step 5: Do not give him money if you are not happy with the work he did. Especially if he drilled or broke your lock.
Step 6: Get a receipt and job description on the company's letter head paper. If he doesn't have that, then that's a sign of a fake Locksmith company.

It can be very difficult trying to pay attention to all the details when you are having issues. Knowing who to call and explaining all the details can be an overwhelming experience. A suggestion would be, if you are ever in a predicament that involves service charges or having a technician come to your home or vehicle, make sure you write everything down so you can verify with the company regarding who said what. It may even save you a little money and help you from being a victim of a Locksmith scam.

Burglars Exploiting Weakness

Burglars Exploiting Weakness

We are here to tell you about the burglars exploiting weakness. With your home not being properly secured, you are subject to burglars exploiting weakness.

By
Burglars Exploiting Weakness Bradenton, FL

Home owners were recently being cautioned and asked to be very alert regarding their surroundings. The fact of the matter is that their properties are most likely not really as protected like it should be. In response to A1 Agent Locksmith, they have experienced a large number of entry doors along with gates being burglarized. Getting new locks can help keep the burglars out but overtime they will find other ways to get in. Sometimes it even helps if you have multiple locks on one door. If you have a very large gate, one lock may not secure it properly. Consult with your local locksmith company to be advised of more secure options. Burglars exploiting weakness can be a big problem. Let us help you so burglars exploiting weakness, will not be a problem for you or your home

There always seems to be an easy spot for a burglar to target when they try to break in someones home. A weak point alongside your seals of several UPVC entrance doors is something that is being taken advantage of by criminals who are easily capable of entering your residence in a matter of a few moments. It seems like the upsetting issue is that you will find repeatedly that there is zero indications of any property damages. Paul, the owner of A1 Agent Locksmith, stated that you would find a couple techniques for achieving accessibility to peoples place of business or personal residences by damaging a part of the European cylinder profiles alongside your doorway entrance. Don't let that happen. Instead, get the proper locks and deadbolts that you need to keep your home or business protected.

Burglars Exploiting Weakness

Although it might not sound familiar to a regular person when purchasing a new door, but about 92 percent of people own these types of doors that are on the market today. Paul seems to think that there continues to be this type of issue everywhere around the world seeing how the manufacturing companies are not changing the way they are making the doors. If we keep supplying the same doorways without fixing the known cause of burglaries then there really is not much a homeowner can do other than take security into their own hands. Choosing the right door is your first step but you may also want to consider purchasing a very good lock and having a professional locksmith install it. When burglars exploiting weakness as a sign of defense. Keep your doors and home protected at all times. You never know when they will strike.

Having said that doorways, whether it be entrance or hallway doors, seem to include a few downsides. Locksmiths are starting to become more aware with the majority of these break-ins escalating within the rural areas of Bradenton, Florida. Sadly to say that even being a locksmith himself, he has been a target in this type of crime. When the intruders damaged his UPVC dead bolt to the door, they were able to gain easy access to his home. Thankfully Paul had a security system that alarmed the authorities and scared away the robbers. Whenever we talk to our neighbors regarding home security and safety, we always hear that they thought they secured all locks before leaving the premises. Some cases its assumed that the other person locked all doors prior to getting into the car, even though you are not able to see any indications of forced access. In these instances homeowners insurance policy holder will more than likely not compensate you for property loss or damage. This can be very disappointing when you work so hard for the things you have, just for someone to illegally take them from you. That is why security and safety is very important. Don't let a burglar scare you. The burglars exploiting weakness is only a game to them. Stay protected.

Locksmith bust in Florida

There are numerous cases regarding a Florida based locksmith company. A Florida based locksmith company was breaking into homes they provided services to.

By
Locksmith bust in Florida

BRADENTON, Fla. – The Federal Government undercover officers busted in on an illegal operation at the primary office of Reliable Locksmith and security in Bradenton, Florida. They are a statewide company of professional locksmiths who travel in local areas surrounding Bradenton. According to the police reports, on Thursday, the undercover officers confiscated files from their desktop computers as well as written documentation which links the company to several locksmith scams that have been recently reported. While there are a few employees that are being questioned, we are aware that the General Manager has been arrested and charged with conspiracy and knowingly receiving stolen property.

We have later come to find out that there were several burglaries reported within a few days before the local police took certain actions from the media. There were complaints of break-ins to cars as well as homes throughout the day and night. People had seen groups of teenagers around their neighborhood's that were acting in suspicious ways. But it seems as though the community was told that everything will be ok and that they needed to let the police handle the situation.

Although the burglaries were all located in a general area, it seems to affect the entire world. An officer by the name of Justin Price was able to talk to us a little bit regarding this Florida epidemic. He stated that Bradenton was home to several of the personnel that were employed by Reliable Locksmith and Security. Even though there was a professional office for the locksmith business, some of the employees were operating from their homes answering phones and sending another employees who were at the office to do the job.

.

Florida Based Locksmith

Regardless of countless concerns that were being reported to the various government corporations, it required the combined time and effort within our national postal service, the Georgia state headquarters as well as the Bradenton sheriff's office to convince a judge to sign papers for a warrant. Once the formal papers were signed, the local authorities were able to take the next step in regulating a sting and to start making arrests. This company was able to get away with these scams for so long due to the Florida regulations regarding locksmith companies. Florida is only one of 40 states that does not have to be monitored or regulated to be a locksmith company.

Detectives charged Clayton Rhodes, the General Manager of Reliable Lock and Security, convicting him with federal postal theft. A sworn statement points out that Mr Rhodes, 33, and another associate Donald Stankos, 40, were the center of the illegal currency fraud sting that went through the federal mailing system. There is currently a warrant that was submitted for the arrest of Stankos on the charges of fraudulent checks and stolen credit cards.

The sworn statement also points to the managers who were overseeing up to 95 company workers, several of them which were working undercover to help bring down the company that was scamming people. The undercover agents had the duties of normal employees as well as try to conduct secret interviews with other associates to get more information against the company. Although it seemed to be a lengthy process, the investigation was coming to a close.

The investigation took several years and even though there were only a few confirmed convictions so far, we knew that there are several more convictions that are going to be taking place in the upcoming days. In addition to postal fraud there were also charges relating to credit fraud, money laundering and stolen checks.

The investigation will never be over stated Officer Price, as he was finishing a media interview. There will always be someone who will come forward with information. It is our job to take that information and apply it to our case.

There is one question I get asked a lot in the field, and that is "What are bump keys?" And "How do they work?" The history behind bump keys is really quite simple. Originally they were created by Locksmiths to save time opening locks. This method has been around for many decades. But as of recently, within the past 15 years or so, they have become main stream. We have noticed that the call centers are "training" their technicians how to bump a lock because it is the easiest way to learn. However, because of this, the technicians don't stay in the field long so they use their improper training for the wrong reasons. This is now causing crooks to acquire bump keys. There is a "Bump Key Proofing Kit" available on the market. However, this product does not work all too well.

Being a second generation Locksmith, I have created a method that really does work and provide what they call "bump key proofing" locks. Our method here at A1 Agent Locksmith is proprietary, there for I can not go into too much detail regarding this matter. But rest assured, I have received many compliments about the security of our "bump key proofing" locks.

For example, one of my customers has an office here in Bradenton. He was on vacation and one of his employees was locked out, resulting in calling an unqualified Locksmith. The Locksmith spent 20 plus minutes and broke several bump keys attempting to gain access. Finally, he decided to drill out the locks because he claimed the lock was broken. Luckily, at the last minute, the owner call his employee and informed him that the office was bump proof. He advised the employee to call us, A1 Agent Locksmith, to help his employee access the office the proper way. Upon arrival, the other Locksmith technician was still there attempting and hoping to learn something about how to truly bump proof a lock, from me. I simply told him that it is proprietary and something only a true Locksmith could come up with as well as learn the trade as I did. He was truly bewildered that there is a tried and true method to secure locks at a responsible price.

So the next time you are locked out and call a Locksmith who uses a bump key to open your door, be mindful that they are probably not a qualified Locksmith. That is the reason bump keys have made it to the general public. All of our technicians at A1 Agent Locksmith are not allowed to use a bump key. We believe in proper training and doing things the right way. We will only pick your locks like a professional company should. By doing this, it will give you a peace of mind knowing you will gain access to your property without any damage to your locks. Not to mention, we alleviate any fears of having your locks drilled, costing you hundreds of hard earned dollars, all because you were locked out.

Our main focus with our company is to gain your trust. We would like all of our customers, who we have done business with, to come back to us.
